Very,very,very good expression of the face...In his eyes I almost can see the World War,but unfortunately I don't like the background,probably a darker or even a black background would it be much useful...Don't worry,just keep going on.

The expression captured is priceless! Really well done! ...

On the other hand the background and especially the top right corner is annoying and distracting. Earlier suggestions on darkening the background or something similar would enhance the overall impression.

Well....thanks Patrick (Moserartist) for the kind words....We are all learning here from each other.......and this is a beautiful picture....very good use of black and white, excellent details and capture of the expression....the look on his eyes is beautiful......agree about the background but minor point....
